| This series of three pictures shows a ship to shore
crane trim, list & slew hydraulic system with anti-snag
protection valves.
The entire system was designed, manufactured and installed
by Ipswich Hydraulics.
The power pack is totally enclosed and water tight.
Finish painted with 3 coats of 2 pack epoxy paint, to
give a 15 year life span for the paint finish.
There are 4 off cylinders which provide 3 degrees of
movement of the container being lifted, in addition
to this an over load protection valve is mounted on
each cylinder, capable of passing 2500L/Min. This allows
the cylinders to collapse in 0.6 seconds over a stroke
of 1500mm. This is a protection system for the crane,
if the load being lifted got snagged up on a ship, then
without this system, the ropes could brake or even worse
the crane structure could get severely damaged.
The large diameter pipework was drawn on CAD, overlaid
on the customers CAD drawings of the crane, then pre
fabricated in large sections and pressure tested at
our factory months before the cranes were even erected.
It had to be done this way as time available on site
was going to be short.
The pipework was also finish painted with 3 coats of
2 pack epoxy paint, to give a 15 year life span for
the paint finish.
The whole contract for two crane sets was completed
on time in 2001, with no problems. |

difficult job, carried out over 40 metres above ground. |
